projectNADA's pancake escapade

I love pancakes. The really thin ones that are light, soft and airy, and usually crispy around the rims. Mmmm... exactly how my mom makes them. While they're hot, smother them with melting butter and some sticky maple syrup, and you'll walk around feeling warm, fuzzy and loved. I'm telling you... pancakes have magical powers. It's like eating a Carebear (not in a sadistic serial killer kind of way) of course.

We pass by it alot and we've always loved their glass walls, but oddly enough, this was our first venture into Paddington House of Pancakes. If you're one of those who can never decide what to order, you're going to have a hard time here. Their menu's huge!!! Pages and pages of twisted ways to make your pancakes sweet and savory. We took a loooooong 20 mins flipping through the pages of their menu and whatever you can dream up that has something to do with pancakes, it's probably there.

The verdict? Taste was average as best, but i'll admit, the ideas they have, are pretty spectacular. The Fries with Onion Sauce came piping hot, but the sauce.. was there any? If there were, it was gone after the fifth fry. The Tokyo was baked chicken with ham and cheese, salad wrapped in pancakes and a side dish of mash potatoes. I thought the chicken and the salad leaves were dry and the mash potatoes could use a dollop of cream and a pinch of salt. The Amsterdam was a huge pizza-styled pancake dish, complete with pepperoni slices, tomato sauce and melted cheese on top. I thought this was the best dish on our table, even though the middle of the pancake got soggy after awhile.

Would we go back for more? Of course! It's still too early to call on this one because they still have so much more to offer.
