We LOVE this hotel - Pousada de Mong-Ha.
When we first arrived in Macau, we hated it. The people at the airport, on the buses and taxis, were all so unfriendly and compulsively rude. It ruined it for us. But when we got to the hotel, everything changed. The hotel staff were warm and hospitable, and the hotel was so beautifully charming, quaint and quiet - a contrast to the colossal casino hotels around Macau. The hotel has it own herb garden and is tenaciously influenced by the Portuguese, with baby fountains everywhere and hand-painted tiles on every wall. The rooms were pleasantly large and comfortable, and the free breakfast buffet was delightful. Not a vast spread, but good enough for a big morning starter. If and when we do return to Macau, we will definitely make a return to this hotel.
