projectNADA's Último Singapore Weekend (Parte Una)

Raaaaaaawwwrrr! Last week, we were invited by LeanSister and LeanSitter to join them for a weekend road trip to Singapore. Impulsive we are, obviously we said yes :P ... and good thing we did that cause it turned out to be one heckuva Amazing Race weekend. We ate great, drank continuously (well, at least LeanSister did :)), smoked in a church and made new friends. Here's our story:

Day One:
Mentioned many times in our previous posts, we're not exactly early risers, but in this case, we had no choice, cause it was only a two day trip, and it would be stupid to waste any more precious time. So yeah, 6:00am, and we were up and excited. It was pouring mad outside so it was a consensus decision to have breakfast in KL instead of Malacca. Thank God the rain started to drizzle by the time we ordered breakfast. The journey began short after we finished.

Drive, drive, drive (LeanSister cusses) drive, drive, drive (Ditzy Davy's million dollar questions) drive (Leansister spews profanity) drive, drive, bought a map, drive, drive, drive...

...and HURRAH! Singapore at last! With the help of the map we got at the gas station, we managed to find our way to the not so impressive 'boutique' hotel we booked earlier without much trouble. Since the fucking immigration dude kept us at the fucking customs office for longer than we should have, by the time we checked into the hotel, we were already quite... famished. So after check-in, we ran upstairs, threw our bags into our gigantic closet *sarcasm intended*, raced back to the lobby, flagged a cab and head for lunch at BigO's Cafe at Wheelock Place on Orchard Road. I must say, it was just an 'okay' lunch, for me at least *disappointed*. I ordered Fish and Chips (that was probably why) and Ditzy Davy ordered Crabmeat Linguini. Gobble, gobble, gobble and the race to our next destination began. We wandered around Orchard for a bit looking for a cab stand and later headed to:

Ann Siang Hill. The whole Chinatown slash Colonial vibe with a touch of modernity really got us going. It really was hot & sexy and as how LeanSitter mentioned, they really could have made Penang look amazing like this *sigh*. They have quite a few well known and interesting shops/boutiques/design agencies here such as The Asylum, Anthropology, Screening Room and Style:Nordic.
